The Exakt Precision saw was invented by my friend Neil from Scotland and is a unique version of a circular saw that has specialist applications and is safe to use.
It is basically a mini circular saw that can make cuts to the exact length and depth you require. This means that you can even cut materials in situ as you wont cut right through them into whatever is below. (14mm max depth of cut)
The small blades spin at 4000rpm and are hidden inside a retractable safety guard that also allows for the collection and extraction of dust, so very little mess or clean up is required.
The Exakt Precision saw has been designed to cut THIN materials like wood, laminate, plastic and metal and is a very popular tool amongst flooring contractors. With the special G50 diamond edged blade it will even cut tiles and ceramics. It is also a great tool for sign makers and anyone cutting thin sheets of metal, (use HSS80 &100)

The advantage of using this new type of saw is the speed, safety and clean working environment.
The depth AND length of cut can be set precisely - hence the name Exakt Precision Saw
The saw MUST be connected to a vacuum for anything other that minor cuts - otherwise the tool may overheat or the blade shield will stick and not retract.
The Exact saw is brilliant at straight cuts, it can do wide curves but not small ones.

The new professional version of the Exakt Precision saw has been improved in several ways. The motor electronics no longer have a thermal cut-out so the tool can operate longer at higher temperatures. (the blade spins at 4000rpm) The blade change bolt has been changed from a hex key to a Torx star key for more positive engagement. The switch and safety guard have been improved for more comfortable and even safer use. The dust extraction duct has been lengthened so the tube attaches better. A pipe cutting guard/jig is now included. and finally, you now get a groovy metal case with proper metal catches! The Exakt Precision saw has been designed to cut THIN materials like wood, laminate, plastic and metal and is a very popular tool amongst flooring contractors. With the special G50 diamond edged blade it will even cut tiles and ceramics. It is also a great tools for sign makers and anyone cutting thin sheets If you happen to have smaller size hands or arthritis then the new EC320 model will be easier to sue as it has a smaller girth. |

* safety update Despite being one of the safest powertools around, EU regulations have dictated that a secondary blade guard lock be fitted to the latest versions. This has made the Exakt Precision tool harder to use and some users with arthritis have reported to me that the only way they could use the tool safely was to remove this small catch by undoing the screw that holds it on. I am NOT advising anyone to do this but am answering a common question about this tool. It also raises the issue of how some of the new safety regulations prevent elderly and disabled people from using many products. |

Multi Purpose Circular saw with dust collection This new design of circular saw has built in dust and debris collection to cut down the mess and discomfort of working with these potentially scary tools. The new rage circular saw has a number of innovative features that make it easier and safer to use than standard circular saws. The rage blade can cut through wood and metal so will not jump out of your hands if you hit a nail in some wood. A diamond tipped blade is also available for cutting concrete and masonry.

My master builders (Fred &Barney) have been testing the Evolution rage saw whilst working at the the shed. They were uncharacteristically impressed with it and particularly like the dust collection feature. Tim the plumber also used it to cut channels in a concrete floor for pipe work. (see image page right) The saw made easy work of this job and created significantly less dust than an angle grinder. The Evolution Rage saw has one minor drawback in that the rotating blade cover cannot be easily retracted for angled plunge cuts. This is a trade off from having the dust collection box but is small price to pay for having that excellent feature. The saw retails for £99 with replacement blades at £20. As I am not a shop but a writer I am not set up for large orders and do get out of the shed from time to time.
Therefore if you need a blade in a hurry, please mail me for delivery times etc in case I am away from the shed for a day or two.
