Makita cordless drills
Updated 15th April 2011 This information page is dedicated to the range of cordless drills from Makita of Japan. Having tested and used these drills and many others over the last 10 years I am confident in recommending Makita cordless drills to people who want a tool that will perform well and last a long time. Some of the drills in the range have been in production for over 10 years and remain unchanged, with all parts available. A cordless drill is only as good as its batteries and Makita often lead the filed in battery technology and were one of the first to introduce Lithium Ion batteries and chargers with cooling fans. A Makita 12v drill with a 3.amph, Nimh Makita battery will produce more power than many 18v tools of other brands, and it can be used in at least 10 other tools that will be in production for many years. The new Makita 18v Lithium Ion Battery is the very best available and sets the standard that other makes try to follow.
The Makita charger (left) is large as it contains a fan and advanced electronics to charge a 3 amp hour battery in 22 minutes. The 18v battery is small but also contains a chip to communicate with its charger.. The Black & Decker charger is small and the battery is large but low in power and takes hours to charge. THE DIFFERENCE IS LIKE CHALK AND CHEESE
