My dad (big Fred) was an old style workman and I grew up surrounded by the tools of his trade. Anyone who depends on their tools for a living knows the value of good design and lasting quality. For many years I worked as an equipment advisor to the National Health Service, helping elderly and disabled people. Society and the BBC. My aim is to find, and develop the best tools to enable anyone to work to the best of their ability. This means carefully chosen, top quality tools, that last a lifetime and that can be serviced and repaired. fredshed has limited space and only features the best, unlike many retailers who will peddle you tools that look good in the shop but fall apart on the job. I test tools to destruction so you don't have to. Only the best survive the fredshed test and are featured and recommended. Although I only sell a few small tools directly I know most garden tool manufacturers personally and many dealers of machinery. If I have the time I can often find you the best supplier and the best price and am happy to recommend tools I don't sell - if they are the best for your purpose . Wherever
